Job Description

The Sales Development Manager will be responsible for engaging with the organization’s target account list and creating qualified leads for the sales team in addition to hiring, onboarding, training and ensuring the SDR team is successful. This role collaborates closely with sales and marketing to maximize the creation of highly qualified sales opportunities. The candidate must be both a strong coach & leader, as well as a successful player, leading by example from the front of the pack as an individual contributor when needed. The SDR Manager must be extremely well organized and have a passion for continually improving the team, including driving a strong sales team culture.

Responsibilities include

  • Identifying key players within target accounts to reach out to through a variety of touch points (cold call, email, social media, etc.).
  • Be able to articulate the organization’s value proposition to different personae, turning complex ideas into easy to understand conversations tailored to each stakeholder.
  • Track, manage, and analyze SDR team activity to provide insights to the larger sales organization.
  • Train SDRs in best practice operating strategies and provide direction for the team, including communicating feedback to the CRO.
  • Help to hire, onboard, train and manage SDRs.
  • Motivate SDRs to meet and exceed goals through coaching and ongoing training.
  • Identify methods to optimize Outreach, Gong, Hubspot, and other selling tools to improve rep productivity
  • Enhance processes to achieve lead generation goals, report on metrics, and obtain KPIs

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of proven SDR experience (preferably in the SaaS space)
  • 2-5 years team lead or management experience
  • The ability and desire to work in a challenging environment - you’re competitive and like to get the job done
  • Passion for prospecting and sales best practices
  • Experience with Hubspot, Gong, Outreach, and marketing automation
  • Excellent project, time and self-management skills
  • The ability to deal with and address objections
  • Positive and energetic phone skills, excellent listening skills and strong writing skills
  • High emotional maturity (EQ) who can act as a leader to grow the office
  • Comfortable balancing leadership with hands-on contribution when necessary
