Podiatrist - Office-Based (New Grads Welcome!) We are seeking a dedicated, office-based Podiatrist to join our team, and we welcome new graduates to apply for this exciting opportunity! The Centers for Advanced Orthopaedics, The Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Center Division located in Northern Virginia, has an immediate opening for a full-time Office-Based Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. CAO is one of the nation’s largest Orthopaedic practices, owned and operated by physicians, with over 60 locations across Maryland, Northern Virginia, and the District of Columbia. The Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Division is a busy, established foot and ankle practice with 3 Orthopedic Foot and Ankle surgeons, 3 Physician Assistants, 2 office-based Podiatrists, 3 Physical Therapists, and 2 Pedorthists. This role will be responsible for diagnosing and treating minor to serious injuries and conditions relating to the foot and ankle, prescribing orthotics, and applying therapeutic treatments. This is an OFFICE-BASED/non-operative position, although if the applicant is interested in performing surgery, that is negotiable. Schedule: Monday-Friday This is an on-site role. Collaborative Culture - Ability to travel between 2 division clinics (Falls Church and Arlington) to provide support and patient care Duties include, but are not limited to: Reviews patient medical histories and consults with patients to examine patients’ legs, ankles, and feet to diagnose diseases, illnesses, and injuries. Utilizes excellent communication skills to inform and educate patients and their families regarding surgeries, treatments, regular care, and illness/disease prevention. Treats deformities and ailments with techniques such as casting or laser therapy (Regenerative medicine (PRP, shockwave, laser in house)). Includes treating sport-related leg or foot injuries. Ordering and interpreting X-rays, CT scans, bone density tests, and ultrasound (all in-house). Orders additional medical tests (like X-rays, ultrasounds, and bone density tests) to form a better diagnosis if necessary. Prescribes orthotics, pain relief medication, and foot orthoses that improve mobility. Dispenses DME and foot care products from in-office retail store. Performs ankle and foot surgeries as necessary. Advises patients on foot care and general wellness/therapeutic practices. Ensures consistent compliance with all regulatory and CAO guidelines, policies, and procedures. Diabetic/routine foot care. Nail, skin, wart, and callous care. General Therapy Techniques. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Education & Experience Board Certification required. A combination of relevant education and experience that equates to the requirements above may be considered. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products required. Experience working with medical record systems preferred. Proficient knowledge of medical terminology. New graduates accepted. Strong Interpersonal Skills - Ability to develop relationships and collaborate to achieve assignments. Confident and critical thinker who will seek input to ensure accuracy. Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment with a proven track record of results. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Able to work independently. Exudes professionalism in presentation. Must be able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in the English language. Physical Demands Must be able to sit for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to use appropriate body mechanics techniques when performing desk duties. Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting, and sitting. Adequate hearing to perform duties in person and over the telephone. Must be able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the telephone. Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading materials from printed sources and computer screens.
