Job Description

Giltner Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and student-focused K-12 Guidance Counselor for the 2025-2026 school year. This individual will play a vital role in supporting students’ academic, social-emotional, and career development needs while fostering a positive and inclusive school culture.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide academic, career, and social-emotional counseling to K-12 students.
Develop and implement individual and group counseling sessions to support student well-being.
Assist students with college and career planning, including scholarship and financial aid guidance.
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to address student needs and provide interventions.
Serve as a resource for mental health and crisis intervention when necessary.
Promote positive school culture and student engagement in academics and extracurricular activities.

Qualifications:

Valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate with a School Counselor Endorsement or the ability to obtain one.
Strong skills in communication, collaboration, and student advocacy.
Experience working with students of all ages is preferred.
