Enterprise Architect (Onsite) Cognizant Digital Practice helps clients reinvent products, experiences, and business models to build new value, differentiation, and drive revenue in the digital economy. We take an Experience centered approach which uses human insights to take ideas from vision to outcome and building end to end experience solutions that enables brands to transform their customer and employee experiences using design, marketing, and commerce capabilities Location: Washington, DC- Onsite Cognizant will only consider applicants for this position who are legally authorized to work in the United States Responsibilities Collaborate with stakeholders to understand workload requirements, performance expectations, and scalability needs, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Design compute architectures optimized for resource utilization, latency, and system performance, incorporating auto-scaling strategies and high availability. Utilize virtual machines, containers, serverless computing , and batch processing, selecting appropriate compute resources based on workload characteristics. Implement security best practices , such as access controls, encryption, network segmentation, and compliance with industry standards and regulations. Define and monitor metrics for compute resources , set up diagnostics, alerts, and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks to optimize resource utilization. Architect event-driven workflows leveraging serverless computing options like Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Event Grid, and Event Hubs for dynamic workload needs. Facilitate knowledge sharing and bridge gaps between design and implementation by collaborating closely with development teams and enterprise architecture groups. Research and evaluate emerging technologies to design flexible, scalable, and strategic solutions , addressing technical debt and aligning with enterprise standards. Document key artifacts, including application inventories, integration platforms, data flows, and process workflows , ensuring a comprehensive technical roadmap. Promote component-based development and best practices , delivering frameworks for cloud-native and hybrid solutions tailored to specific business requirements. Work with other enterprise architecture teams to align various solutions architecture to enterprise standard, reference architecture, patterns, and best practices . Develop target-state guidance ( reusable standards, guidelines, individual parts, and configurations ) for evolving the technical infrastructure across the enterprise Required Qualification: Over 15 years of experience in architecting and designing compute-intensive solutions for enterprise applications, with a proven track record in developing Azure architectures for large-scale, production-grade systems. Deep knowledge of Azure compute services, including VMs, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Logic Apps, Azure Batch, App Services, React UI, and PostgreSQL, along with expertise in hybrid cloud scenarios and IaaS/PaaS cloud patterns (e.g., horizontal scaling, 12-factor design). Proficient in CI/CD toolchains (e.g., TFS, Git, Jenkins) and skilled in creating cloud infrastructure templates like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) and using orchestration tools such as Terraform. Extensive experience with microservices, micro-frontends, and containerized deployments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), along with deployment strategies like blue/green, canary, and rolling updates. Strong understanding of cloud-native solutions, enabling iterative delivery through agile practices while aligning compute designs with application requirements and business goals. Hands-on experience in leading cloud integration strategies, supporting changes in development, deployment, and configuration processes consistent with DevOps best practices. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to define technology roadmaps, evaluate cloud service alternatives, and optimize resource cost-performance balance. Familiarity with security best practices, such as encryption, IAM policies, and compliance with industry standards, ensuring robust and secure architectures. Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration abilities, with the ability to manage programs or multiple projects while engaging with diverse teams and stakeholders. Commitment to staying informed about emerging Azure services, front-end technologies, and trends, ensuring solutions remain innovative and effective Other Compensation: Applications will be accepted until May 20th , 2025. The annual salary for this position is between $113,000 to $195,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
