Job Description

LHH seeks a passionate and skilled Bilingual Community Housing Advocate to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those experiencing homelessness in the community.

Your Role:
As a Community Housing Advocate, you’ll be at the forefront to help individuals and families achieve housing stability and self-sufficiency. You’ll work directly with clients, offering personalized support and connecting them with the resources they need to overcome barriers and build a better future.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth assessments to understand each client’s unique needs, strengths, and challenges. Develop tailored service plans that guide them toward housing stability.

  • Assist clients in accessing critical services such as emergency shelters, transitional housing, financial assistance, job training, and healthcare. Help them navigate complex systems and complete necessary paperwork with ease.

  • Maintain regular contact with clients to track their progress, offer continued support, and adjust service plans as needed. Be their advocate with service providers, landlords, and other stakeholders to secure resources and resolve housing-related issues.

  • Keep accurate and confidential records of client interactions, service plans, and progress reports, ensuring compliance with agency policies and reporting requirements.

  • Build and nurture relationships with local service providers, community organizations, and other stakeholders to expand the resources available to your clients and enhance their support network.

What You Bring:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with landlords and navigating housing applications.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with diverse populations, build rapport, and communicate effectively.

  • A solid understanding of homelessness issues, local resources, and social services. Familiarity with housing systems and Fair Housing laws is a plus.

  • Excellent time management abilities, capable of handling multiple cases and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • A demonstrated commitment to working with vulnerable populations, approaching each client with empathy and without judgment.

  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid CA license
